Under the Sign Strategy for Liverpool
City Council a number of existing direction signs have
been identified on the strategic routes to Liverpool.
As a result of this survey the sign shop is currently
carrying out the replacement of route signs. Using the
basic principals of signing (Local Transport note 1/94
and Chapter 7 of the Traffic Signs Manual) the sign shop
manufacture signs that comply to BS873 and current Traffic
Sign Regulations.
The replacement of damaged and faded traffic signs is
reported through Liverpool Direct and Highway Inspections,
the manufacture and replacement is carried out in 20 days.
The general manufacture and
fabrication of guard rails and handrails, security grilles,
street name plate frames is normally at the request
of other departments within Enterprise-Liverpool, including
a response following road traffic accidents. New work
is also undertaken on Highways reconstructions and Road
Junction Scheme etc.
